Cosmetic Acupuncture

Seriously?

Yes, seriously. There is research that indicates that this therapy has been around for centuries in China. Sadly much of this history was lost in the chaos and violence of the Chinese Revolution of 1949. Texts and documents were destroyed and therapists were forced into new occupations under the Communist leadership.

You are not the only one wondering if this is a gimmick. I was very skeptical when I first heard about cosmetic acupuncture. Clients began to ask me if I practiced it. I was finally swayed after two of my clients had seen the Gemini Award winning documentary "Skin Deep" on (NETWORK) in 2001. Both remarked that the woman who received the acupuncture in the documentary looked much better than the woman who underwent cosmetic surgery.
I decided to take a course and see for myself. Even in class I felt skeptical until we all began to notice changes in our own appearances as we practiced on one another. When friends and family started noticing the difference in my appearance I was swayed. Most importantly I noticed a difference myself.

With some practitioners suggesting as many as 15 sessions for a course of treatment, I am often asked how many sessions is necessary to achieve results. In my opinion, those interested in trying cosmetic acupuncture should book 10 – 12 sessions, depending on what we discuss. This can be re-evaluated once we get close to the end of the sessions.
